Know before you go! Our rental policies are in place to help everyone stay safe and be in compliance with local laws and regulations. A quick review of our policies will tell you all you need to know to get the most out of your lake trip!

A little bit of knowledge will make it easy to plan your fun day on Cherokee Lake. If you have any questions regarding our rental policies or anything else you would like to know to prepare for your boating trip, please call us or shoot us an email. We’re happy to help make your trip run as smoothly as possible.

  • Arrival: Please arrive 15 minutes before your rental time.
  • Age: Renters must be 18 years old and up to operate a rental boat. Renters must be 16 years old and up to operate a WaveRunner. Ages 16 to 18 may operate a WaveRunner only under constant parental sight and supervision. All drivers must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and are required to watch an instructional video before operating any watercraft.
  • Alcohol & Drugs: Alcohol is permitted on board, but the operator of the boat may not drink alcohol or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Illegal drugs are never permitted on board, whether or not they are being used.
  • Children: All children 12 years old and under are required to wear a life jacket and be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian while on the boat.
  • No Wake: All boats and personal watercraft operating within 300 feet of a commercial boat dock must do so at a “No Wake” speed regardless of whether or not the area is marked by buoys.
  • Pets: ONLY non-shedding dog breeds that weigh less than 20 pounds are allowed. Service dogs are permitted, but identification or proof of service must be presented at the time of your rental. If you bring a dog on the boat that sheds you we will be charged a $50 cleaning fee. You will be financially responsible for any damage caused by your pets.
  • Grills & Fires: No cooking equipment, grills, or fire of any kind are allowed on boats.
  • Weather: If there is inclement weather at the marina on the day of rental, you can cancel or reschedule free of charge. This is subject to the manager’s on-site discretion. If you are out on the water and inclement weather begins, please do whatever you feel is safe. If possible, make it back to the dock, and if not, pull into the back of a cove for shelter. Call us to discuss the raincheck policy when you are safe.
  • Cancelation: You can cancel any time up to 72 hours before your reservation and receive a full refund. Reservations canceled within 25 to 72 hours of your start time will be charged a cancellation fee equal to your rental deposit. Reservations canceled less than 24 hours prior to your start time will result in a charge equal to the full price of the rental at the time of booking. If you are unable to provide the required damage deposit or don’t have a valid driver’s license on the day of rental, your reservation will be canceled and you will be charged the full price of the rental.
  • Cost of Fuel: Fuel is NOT included in the rental cost. All boats go out on a full tank of gas. At the end of your rental, the dock hands will fill the tank up and report the number of gallons used to the office. You will be charged for the fuel you use upon checking out. If you don’t check out, we will charge the card on file and email you a receipt.
